Aprenda Exam/Examen de Aprenda

January's main focus is practicing and taking the Aprenda exam. It is extremely important that the students come everyday and be on time. Due to confidential test materials being in the room, no parents are allowed in the classroom after 8:00 am. The test is given over 5-6 days about an hour each day. Please do not stress yourself or the children out. I will be doing enough stressing for all of us!

We have been practicing everyday our test taking skills. Also, the questions range from Kinder to 5th grade level. Our goal is to score at least a K.4=Kindergarten year 4th month.

Remember the students will be tested in Spanish and no translation is permitted. I read the majority of the test questions and have stressed to the students that they must listen. The Reading section is the only section I do not read to them. Ohhhhh....we will be ok.

El enfoque de enero es practicando y tomando el examen de Aprenda. Es muy importante que los estudiantes vengan todos los dias y lleguen a tiempo. Debido a razones de seguridad sobre el contenido del examen, los padres no seran permitidos despues de las 8:00 am en el salon. El examen sera entre 5-6 dias por una hora. Por favor no se mortifiquen ustedes ni los estudiantes. Yo me mortifico lo suficiente para todos.

Hemos estado practicando todos los dias. Las preguntas seran de nivel Kinder a Quinto. Nuestro objetivo es K.4=nivel Kinder cuarto mes.

Recuerden que el examen sera en espanol. Yo les leo la mayoria de las preguntas y les he dicho a los estudiantes que es importante escucharme.

La seccion de Lectura es lo unico que no les leo. Ohhhhh.....vamos a estar bien.

Book Report/Reporte de Libro

The students will do 2 book reports each week. The books to be used for the book reports will be their leveled readers-those books have a number inside the dot on the front cover. They are to write the title and a brief summary of the story in the middle square. Also, they write 4 words that they can read and write from the story they have read.
A comprehension grade will now be averaged into the reading grade. This along with the story sheets will be good practice.
Los estudiantes haran 2 reportes de libro cada semana. Los libros que usaran seran los libros de nivel-estos libros tienen un libro en el punto que esta sobre la portada. Ellos escribiran el titulo y un resumen del cuento en el cuadro del medio. Tambien escribiran 4 palabras que sepan leer y escribir del cuento que han leido.
Una calificacion de comprehension sera usada para la calificacion de lectura. Este reporte y las dos hojas de comprension seran buena practica.

Homework/Tarea

Next week the students will have 2 sheets to practice reading comprehension. Part of the Aprenda is to read passages of varying lengths and answer questions. Some of the students have already practiced these sheets. They only have to review.
Los estudiantes van a tener 2 hojas de comprension. Parte del examen del Aprenda es leer cuentos y contestar preguntas. Algunos de los estudiantes ya han hecho las hojas; para ellos solamente es un repaso.
